Mazda
Zoroastrianism has three major tenets:
Good thoughts;
Good words;
Good deeds --
And has roots in the Bronze Age, which
Predates most everything except maybe our VW Bus.
Its central force is Ahura Mazda.
Ahura means mighty.
Mazda means wise.
I claim no wisdom of my own, but our
Car from this this century has air conditioning.
It is a Mazda.
Smart car.
ReplyDeleteOur Mazda is full of smart technology, Delores, but the old VW has the greater wealth of experience.
DeleteSon Paul and daughter in law started a yearlong North American Van trip in early September ... ... Make and model of the van I do not know, only know his name is Morrie *after Van Morrison) ... smiles ... It's been a good trip for them and cat Benny so far ... Started in Alberta, then all the way to the east coast and entered Us state of Maine just yesterday ... Instagram address is @paulleanneandavan ... Anyway, wishin U a good w/e, friend Geo ... Love, cat.
ReplyDelete"Van Morrison"! I like it. I wish Paul, Leanne(?) and Benny happy travels and hope you're having a good weekend too.
DeleteThere is a great deal of wisdom reverating around most VW busses }
ReplyDeleteThere sure is, Rick. Hard part is distinguishing wisdom from the air-cooled rear engines, which are notoriously noisy beasts.
ReplyDeleteAs my dad would have said, what a fine looking couple! I hope your Mazda gives you even a fraction of the great memories I bet you have of the VW Van.
ReplyDeleteO_Jenny, the van has several trips to the moon and back on its odometer (which only goes up to 99000 miles and starts over) and there are memories of trips, that involved every human activity --including pushing, diaper-changing, moving house-- and has been equal to the task. It has been like an extra, mobile room to our house and I can't quite bring myself to sell it. Also, it still runs good. The Mazda is the second of two Mazdas we've bought this century. One went to Illinois with our daughter 10 years ago. The other is emerging from its infancy.
DeleteThis is playfully amusing, and I love seeing the two of you - a beautiful couple in front of your dinosaur mobile. I think my next car will be a Mazda.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Geo.
Beautiful Robyn, I always try to get a little behind Norma in photos so I look like I at least associate with someone pretty. Lately it's not enough to just pose in front of the VW Van's ugly butt. I shall turn 68 next month, an age at which boys must consider such things.

Thanks, Sandra. Found myself stuck in rush-hour traffic to keep an appointment today and felt less than wise. Will try to schedule more wisely in the future. You have a pleasant weekend too!
DeleteThis info is invaluable. When can I find out more?
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous, I'm not sure you're sincere, but you can, I hope, find out more by consulting your soul.
DeleteHaha. Good one, Geo. I may steal for my insincere trolls.
DeleteAh, Robyn, I've been trying to recall what made me reply that way and finally remembered an old Woody Allen line: "I cheated on my metaphysics exam by looking into the soul of the kid sitting next to me." Been 30-40 years since I read it so I should rightly call it a paraphrase.
DeleteIf my wife and I were to have a vehicle that would be the type of vehicle for us, it sometimes gets exhausting carrying groceries home.
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Lon! The van has always been useful, even more so while we were raising a family.
