My Stunt Double, Part Two


She talks about friends
Our age --generations:
"They had children who
Had children who are
Absolutely crazy..."
Never have I heard the
Old Testament expressed
So succinctly, and,
Because it is
Is a book of Biblical
Proportions, I should
listen to her oftener.

    Of course, because of our long friendship, I want to know who "she" is! The new critics of the 1950s-60s and the deconstructionists be damned!!!

    In terms of spiritual progress and perceiving quiddity, Stunt Double is a name I have long applied to my wife of 40 years --not quite to the same degree a Christian might refer to Jesus. But in both instances the Hollywood adage applies: There's no economy in a cheap stunt double.
