Her Garden
Nothing imagined could
Dismiss the rightness
Of this: you plan,
Plant, improvise,
Provide and I'd feel
No less near if
I fell from another star,
Here, to be astonished
By what you are.
This is my absolute favorite of all your poems I've read so far.
ReplyDeleteNorma's too, I'm sure. The garden is beautiful.
Michelle-- Thanks! Most kind. And I have relayed your compliment to Norma, who takes great pride in her garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming ode to a very lovely lady and her colorful garden! As usual, you've said a lot with few words (I wish I had that skill!).
ReplyDeleteJon-- Thanks! High marks from an excellent writer and musician.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy parent's gardener in India would have loved this too.
He said something similar, but in prose.
Hey Geo! Yep, this was brief but bright. Very nice work, Sir. Indigo
ReplyDeleteThat is truly a beautiful garden and your poem I loved!
ReplyDeleteNicely done!
WoW! What a fitting tribute.
ReplyDeleteYou have left me feeling the awe of your garden, clouds, tiny chick...So very glad to meet you.
