Found-Poem: new flowers (Normasource)
Norma has had the flu! But she got out today and inspected her garden. She sent photos from her phone and a message --a message typical of a directness I can seldom approach in poetry. I reproduce it intact:
"new flowers:
I raked leaves over the bulbs, then the bulbs came up and look how they pushed the leaves up with them."
It is amazing how shoots start looking for sun and push any thing that is in their way, while bulbs don't mind a bed of raked leaves or even crushed up leaves. Nature is self sufficient eh?
Hello Geo!:) Nature is sooo incredible. I like what I see, and what I have read, so am now following this blog, will be back to check on the others very soon.
ps. Loved the story about your great uncle Willie!:)))

ReplyDeleteYes, well-put, nature is self-sufficient. Good thing too!
DeleteLife hoisting death over its shoulders. I think I just heard green laughter.
ReplyDeleteNorma's photo does catch a seasonal game of leap-frog. On your suggestion I'll listen for the merriment of elementals.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fascinating picture. Seeing the shoots from the flower bulbs pushing up at the dead leaves is poetic.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! There is a rhythm and meter to the seasons measured in the smallest things.
DeleteOh, that is just awesome...aww, looks like springtime.
ReplyDeleteOn that note, it's snowing here. Again. :(
Thank you Michelle! But is there not some hope of trucking Kentucky snow to California? We are having a drought and are very worried about our wine!

Thanks! And welcome!
DeleteIt is only us humans that get bogged down by things, mostly imaginary. Nature, on the other hand, is nature...
ReplyDeleteTrue KK. Nature is the language of the universe, I am trying to learn it.
