Pansy

Splash of color over
A decaying can--
Some music cast into
Time-- plays sunlight
Like a chime, a flash
Forgotten, a rhyme, a
Tone brief and bright--
A life of its own.

  1. One of my very favourite flowers. They are so cheerful even on the dreariest days.

    1. They ARE cheerful, Delores. A dear friend from my gardening days said she loved their happy faces. People are affected by flowers. Good thing too.

  2. It's a lovely contrast that Norma captured and you amplified. Beautifully written, Geo.

    1. O_Jenny, thank you. When we see the impossible colors of pansies, Norma and I simply have to make something of it.

    1. Dear Arleen, that poem was dictated by a pansy hanging out of an old washtub. Norma's photo caught the contrast.

  4. Greetings from very wintery Alberta. No splash of colour here at this time, friend Geo … not even hardy pansies … Love, cat.
