Midnight

We are like our
Newyear's bell,
Rung to a world's
Time and tuned
To one brass note,
But each ring is
Followed by a new
And different quiet.

  3. You've made me cry, Geo. We all need to hope that our note is clear and crisp and adds to the symphony ...

Wonderful poem, and Geodoodle, and Normaphoto of same.

  4. Each one
    A different quiet
    Lasts just a while
    But in my mind
    It is eons of time
    The ringing and quiet
    So loud, so fine
Are yours as much as mine

  6. Wonderful. And what a perfect drawing to accompany the verse.
The one brass note seems particularly fitting.

  7. I love this poem. I just finished Watercolor Words by Kearby Topher. I love his work too.

    1. Dear Rick, I had not heard of Kearby Topher. Looked up samples of his beautiful pages on Google Images and am quite impressed. My doodles come from my journals with the 1st draft of the poem --which is different from Topher's typed fair copies-- but both techniques are personally effective. Thanks!
