Triple Word Score
I see your lamplit face.
All space is the same space.
Subatomic time is
Constant among galaxies
And these brains of ours, so
Ideas addressed in neurons
Are heard also among stars.
I am able to look across
Scrabble at you and know
The reverse is also true.
I haven't played Scrabble in a while. Sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while for me too, Emma. The photo was taken a couple years ago.
DeleteIt's only as I try to write poetry lately that I truly appreciate what you are able to do with words, Geo. Beautiful ideas, so well expressed. Thank you for letting us read your work.
ReplyDeleteWe're all still learning, Jenny, and clues come from within. Keep practicing and, most importantly, enjoying.
DeleteBeautiful photo and a very romantic piece.
ReplyDeleteScrabble is one of my favorites, yet I rarely get the triple word score.
Triple word score is meant to be a rarity, Robyn, except when it's being an impossibility. I guess it's trying to teach us the difference.
DeleteScrabble, cards, chess,
ReplyDeleteIt all is a right mess,
All you and I care for,
Is a little bit of glee,
To feel bound together and yet be free,
So whether it is your neurons or mine,
Or these stars sublime,
Nothing can take away,
This togetherness,
And this time.

Great picture and great poem with it, Geo.
