2xCyclic 5-7-5 Haiku

Not even what will
Be before what happens last
Can undo the past.

But nothing is still.
Ampliative induction
Goes 'round --always will.

  1. I am forever learning from you. Yes, I had to look up ampliative induction. There's more shame in NOT looking up something you don't know I believe.

    1. Dear Delores, you'll doubtless recognize ampliative induction as a staple device in haiku. I've never mastered it but sure admire those poets who do.

  2. "Nothing is still." I really like that - and its position in your verse.
    Another gem by a gem.
    Thanks, Geo.

    1. Kind Robyn, from the dance of Shiva to the entropic arrow of time --the degree of disorder in all systems will continue to cause change. I suspect it's why the universe created minds. Something's got to make sense of it --or, in my case, nonsense, or both. Dear lady, I believe we have a dance.

  3. I don't know, Geo. It looks like a picket fence, musty leaves and growy things. What am I missing? --Sven

  4. It's been five days since you posted this and my brain is still going "zzzzzttt" from having shorted out trying to google "ampliative induction" . . . between our internet problem and the fact that I kept googling reduction instead of induction, it was tough slogging :)

ANYWAY. I still like your poem.

    1. Jenny, thanks for your efforts, and for liking my poem. I imagine reduction could include induction if we...uh-oh, where's that zzzzzttt-sound coming from? I think I'll go lie down now.

  5. "Nothing is still"... I love that!
It is so true of life, isn't it?
A gorgeous picture too... really fills me with anticipation of the approach of spring!
    Thank you so much! ☺☺

    1. Thank YOU, Ygraine. In navigating our plenum, nothing remains still --especially our minds as we dream.
