Spider-Sprinkler Seance

A spider web
Catches spray in
The last of
Summer heat.
At the root of
Existence, mind
And matter meet.
You are here.
I'm here too.
Hello, I love you.

  1. This time on year, spiders weave incredible art around here too.
I can see the art in your poem.

    1. Dear Rick, many years ago I read an essay by Bertrand Russell that included the line,"Matter and mind are basically two ways of organizing events." That thought has always epitomized art and craft to me.

  2. Indian Summer is upon us, friend Geo … and with that come cool mornings and invisible spider nets tickling my face as I walk on my path. How is your path these days? Much love, cat.

    1. Lovely Cat, my path is winding through some dark places right now but I am getting stronger little by little. I still come upon things good and beautiful. For that I am grateful.

    1. Familiar with old saying, dear Delores. I think it persists in memory because it is mindful forward and backwards. Love appreciated and reciprocated --thank you.

  4. Echoing Delores, Geo. - we love you too. How are your war wounds coming along? Are you being a patient patient? I hope your healing is going well.

    1. O_Jenny, my war with this ailment, despite surgeons' skills, has not made me more patient. However, I'm healing fast and the stitches halfway round my neck don't let my head fall off. I hate when it falls off. --Love, Geo.

  5. As there were spiders before man, that would mean that they were the first great artists of this world. Add a little water and Norma and her camera and we have a masterpiece.

    1. Arleen, I'm late returning to this post, but thank you ever so much for your compliment to Norma. She doesn't think she does anything remarkable with her ipad. I'm not about to disabuse her of that notion --she might charge me!!!
