Solstice
Oncoming rain.
Overhead a
Herd of clouds sails
From sunset and
Tree frogs sound
Like castanets.
West creek curve
Echoes a chance bit
Of blue between billows.
Something in me knows
Echoes and chance.
It sways me, I move.
Madam Earth, I believe
We have a dance.
I can almost see the Druid s coming together to celebrate. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks,Emma. Best wishes in this and all seasons.
DeleteEveryone should dance with Madam Earth, as often as possible! I hope your rain is gentle and long.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and Norma a happy holiday, Geo.
O Jenny, the dance goes around a star --a lively reel that includes us all. Best wishes to you as well!
DeleteWonderful!!
ReplyDeleteAnd so evocative of our skies here at this very moment (we are teetering on the edge of "Storm Barbara").
Oh that fabulous image of dancing with Madam Earth...definitely appeals to the Druid in me!
Many thanks.:)
Wishing you both a Magical Holiday.:))
My thanks in return and best wishes, Magical Ygraine.
DeleteCloud dancing. It's been too log for me.
ReplyDeleteRick, I suspect the dance goes on even when we stand perfectly still.
DeleteWhat a beautiful perspective you have - it's all a dance. I love the thought.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderfully warm loving Christmas, Geo.
Thanks, Robyn! I trust sunset will begin a joyful Hanukah.
DeleteI hope you and yours had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and are looking forward to a very HAPPY NEW YEAR. May we display your header on our new site directory? As it is now, the site title (linked back to its home page) is listed, and we think displaying the header will attract more attention. In any event, we hope you will come by and see what is going on at SiteHoundSniffs.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jerry. I have visited your site and it appears safe and useful.
DeleteI love the gray and the silver of the skies and the dark shade of the land. This is the first time, I saw some one calling Madam Earth, back home we call her Mother Earth.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping buy, I hope that you and your loved ones had a very nice time on the Holidays and I wish you guys a very Happy New Year.
Happy new year to you too, Munir. "Mother Earth" is appropriate and universal. I only call her "Madam" when asking her to dance with me.
DeleteBeautiful !!!
ReplyDeleteyou are very good at your poetic description friend!
Thank you, Baili, most kind.
DeleteI loved the poem, and even more than that I loved the title you gave it, Geo.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you, KK! Glad you liked the poem.
