Because Norma's Garden Speaks French...
There are many Arresting moments In living, some joyous, Some forgiving-- Some handed to The precinct station And remanded To the custody Of imagination.
After immigrating to AB Canada in 1982, I used to grow flowers furiously around our 1920s farmhouse, friend Geo. Fern in the shade, roses in the sun, bleeding heart in middle light, Monkshood anywhere, lilies anywhere, morning glory and sweet peas and pansies and mary gold and lupines, wild flowers galore, even had green beans flowering and trailing ... towering sunflowers and hollyhocks ... I even tried roses ... I was truly obsessed with growing green and colour cuz our growing season is only 100 frost free days ... my lilac isn't even close to blooming yet ... pansies are showing their lovely lil faces though ... smiles ... Anyway by end of August all this magic will be over ... but here I am end of May and planting away ... Much love, cat.
It sounds lovely, dear Cat. There is so much to do and learn as the Earth teaches itself to us. We try to be apt pupils, but lately that job has been done by Norma --she clears her mind out there in the morning. I retired from 37 years of gardening public places and my forearms are mostly scar-tissue. But I can still do the heavy hauling and some arboreal chainsawing. One ages you see. Still, I have not tired of horticultural effects that make life even more beautiful.
Dear Prof., Comment much appreciated. Daughter has been visiting and just left to continue west and see our San Francisco boys. I felt a void, but am much cheered by the good mark. Thanks Prof.

DeleteHah! Love this one, Geo.! Or, in Normagarden parlance, je l'adore :)
ReplyDeleteMerci Jenny. Nous devons toujours nous rappeler que ce monde est un jardin en orbite autour du soleil.
DeleteOui, je souhaite seulement que ma part grandisse mieux - mon pouce est noir :)
DeleteYikes! As I age, even moderate labor and lifting cause my hands and arms to turn impossible colors. If you find a cure, let me know!
DeleteBlessings.....
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile.
Thank you.
Dear Phoenix, your smile is my reward. Thank you, too!
DeleteBeautifully stated and fitting as a reflection of the image too!

Delete"Custody of imagination" <-Wow! Again you go and create magical verse. Love it.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Geo.
Dear Robyn, thanks. Verse and I love you right back.
DeleteYou are a sharp man, Geo. Love this!
ReplyDeleteDear Pearl, this, this sharp thing I sometimes am --this old thing-- loves you too.
DeleteSuch a lighthearted, playful flow to this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Geo.
Thanks again, dear Robyn. The flow is increased as my neurons settle into river valleys.
